Sunday Crafternoon

The regular instalment.

Today was a hot day, and I felt a bit sick in the belly, so I spent it hiding indoors, mostly crafting.  The house looks like a bomb has hit it, but I’ve caught up on some swap building, so it’s all good really.

The first thing I made was little bottle cap magnets (after scoring at least 200 Carlton Draught bottlecaps from the neighbours, who enjoy the odd beer or two-hundred) to go with my 5 things cupcake swap that I’m so behind on.  I’ve had the boxes made for months, but I thought I better put something in them, and add a little extra because they are so very late.  So it’s little kawaii cupcake fridge magnets, and I was quite pleased, as the resin worked BEAUTIFULLY for me this time, and didn’t give me any grief.

Then I decided it was Fimo polymer time, as I’m behind on a swap-bot Polymer Clay swap, as well as 5 things charms with words.  I decided to make bluebirds of happiness for the charms, they all say “love” on one wing and “joy” on the other.  Not very creative of me, as I’ve made these birdies a few times now, but they still turned out kinda cute. 

 

And as I had cupcakes on the brain, my polymer clay partner is getting 5 cupcake fridge magnets with beaded “sprinkles” on top. Okay, that’s out of the way now.

I also had to sort out and parcel up a couple of the 5 things swaps I’m hosting – tattoos and flat out.  I’m still waiting on a parcel from each swap to go, and then I can post them all.  I like co-ordinating the swaps, as I love seeing what people come up with, but I also wish I had a postal fairy to take them and post them all for me, as postage is a bit of a killer.

I spent the evening working away on some embroidery,  one that’s actually a birthday pressie for one of my fave o/s buddies, and the other a chicken for me:

So all in all, quite productive!
