I seem to have hit the proverbial wall, and am collapsed in a blob on the couch. Tomorrow does not bode well. However, what I have been doing is winding embroidery floss onto cardboard bobbins, and it is indeed strangely relaxing and soothing. I seem to have floss everywhere, old, new, tangled, untangled, so I’m trying to achieve some sort of organisation. My floss is nowhere as organised as this pretty pic that I borrowed from Flickr…but now it’s not tangled either.

On my desk today, a pressie from the lovely Floresita, who knew I’d been coveting the Vogart “busy pups” embroidery transfer and sent me her spare copy plus some other pressies. Thank you!
I’m thinking those stitch diagrams in the photos would make nice decorations for a sewing bag…I might scan and flip them tonight for a transfer design. Speaking of happy, I’m doing a little giveaway over at Mrs Stitchy Britches, so if you like to embroider, leave a comment over there!

drunken chicken tea towel, originally uploaded by drewzel. Here’s a quick scan of something I embroidered the other night, a row of drinking chickens on a tea towel. The design is from Lovestitches’ blog, and there’s another chicken to the left who’s broken a bottle of gin (or vermouth?), but it didn’t fit on the scanner. Never have known a chicken that could hold it’s liquor.
In between being bitten by white-tails and being mildly disgruntled, I’ve been doing a little bit of stitching to catch up on swaps. Here’s a quick show’n'tell of two rockabilly napkins I recently finished for a 5 things swap.

I used iron- ons from the Sublime Stitching book and added a bit of freehand text with appropriate phrases. I decided that my swap buddies can use them as place mats, rather than napkins, and I hope they like ‘em.

Latest thing I’ve been stitching… buddah hankies. Design is from Sublime Stitching’s “OM sweet OM”.
