Jannie does great work. And she loves chickens. ‘Nuff said.

This gorgeous illustration comes from here…and I earlier made a purchase from Tartx’s Etsy store. Although there’s no rain on the horizon here, it’s a lovely sunny Friday. I’m hanging to escape from work and get out there…although I do have to go home and make my Mixtogether giftie for tomorrow. Enjoy your Friday!
Lover of Fridays extraordinaire, Big Cat.
Hollie orginally put me onto to Krisatomic, and I so love this drawing!
And the gal embroiders too, yay!
As I’m attempting to do a bit of cleaning up this afternoon, I’m sharing and loving this pic I saw via the Craftzine blog.
Alas, in the US, but available here for keen shoppers.
and as an embroidery lover, I think it’s fantastic. Why don’t I think of things like this? Love!

First off, this post is a bit tongue-in-cheek…but a bit honest too…
When I saw this on Flickr, I said "Oooooooooooooooooooooh!!! How gorgeous", but then I shame myself to admit, I had that sinking feeling of self-doubt and insecurity that I sometimes get when I’m faced with supreme greatness in the craft area. That is, your mind starts to think "hey I wanted to do something using stitching and drawing, but why should I bother now, it’ll never be as good as this" and the evil little doubts start to chew at your mind, running around in circles and nibbling at your self-esteem like my pal Rattus.
In all seriousness, this is superb and totally inspiring, I love it. Mmmm.
Sometimes it’s good to have the decision taken out of your hands – I saw this on Stephanie Congdon-Barnes’ blog and thought "Instant love!! Miss Ida Morgan – look at her lacy chest! Swoon!" Upon checking Stephanie’s shop, Miss Ida was of course, sold. So I’ll just have to enjoy the pics on Stephanie’s blog:
I was very taken with Leo J. Adams as well, particularly his spotted necktie.
Also pleased to read in this post the following quote:
I receive a lot of emails asking if it’s okay to make things inspired by my collections as gifts or for their own homes. Yes! Yes, it is okay! Go for it! Cover rocks. Make toadstools. Fashion twigs. I think it’s great. … I would, one day, like to share a few patterns for the simpler things that I make, but pattern-duplicating is not nearly as exciting to me as actual creating, and so it continually gets put on the back-burner.
Talk about inspiration, yay!
… and clinically depressed too, I’d agree.

Mary Mary Quite Contrary… and clinically depressed too, I’d say., originally uploaded by eliz.avery.
I love this illustration that eliz.avery has shared on Flickr. All the illustrations from this Mother Goose series are fantastic. So twisted, so good. [Charles Adams, Saturday Evening Post, 1967.]
