That’s one expensive cuppa…

As part of my ongoing folly with Swap-Bot, I signed up for a Tea Swap…send some teabags/loose tea to your partner for beverage enjoyment. Inga from Norway sent me the yummiest loose tea blends I’ve ever had (mmm, choc and vanilla tea), and yesterday there was another tea swap parcel waiting for me when I got home.

When I opened it, I got this letter from Customs:
“Your mail did not meet Australian quarantine requirements. Item in quarantine – Tea, 1 packet of passion herbal tea, unit = 5g”

My options are:
1. Return item to sender
2. Pay for heat treatment and receive item 3 weeks after treatement (cost = $42.50)
3. Do nothing and after 30 days they destroy the item.
I know they’re just doing their jobs, and I respect that, but Lordy! $42.50 to get my teabag back after it’s been “heat treated” ! Can you still use a teabag after that? I think not.

Guys, you can keep it.

It’s fantastic that you are getting ideas from this
paragraph as well as from our discussion made at this place.
