Too much

It’s Friday, and I am very grateful for that fact…I really feel like hiding at home all weekend, because that’s the sort of week it’s been.  Today hasn’t started well, the planets must be misaligned or something.   This morning, in the bathroom all I could smell was cat poo, as due to our ongoing renovations,  the floor is open, one of the lazy bastards has gone under the house and done a dump. Then when I went out to feed the birds, one of the quail got out, I tried to catch it, Lola tried to eat it and it flew over the back fence and out of my life. Then I go to get in the car and realise I’ve stepped in a big dog poo and the heel of my sandal is covered. After sorting the poo shoe, I get to work and say hello to my office fish, who is I find floating sideways… dead.  Argh!

So I’m not tempting fate, just sitting here quietly now.  I know in the scheme of things, it’s not really a bad morning, but for someone who needs to take their medication to make it out of bed in the morning, little things can just be way too much.  I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment, and I really need to take a big step back and simplify my life and the things around me.   My head feels really “cluttered”, even my blog looks cluttered!  (Don’t be surprised if you’re faced with a blank template next time you call by!)   Anyone got any advice on “simplifying” things?

    *hugs*

Yes, I use vitalist.com — it’s a free service and I find I can enter in every single thing I am even slightly thinking about and then forget it. I look at my page once every couple days, chekc off things that are done, add new things… it’s awesome! Got rid of ALL my mind-clutter!

It’s part of a system from a book called Getting Things Done by David Allen — it’s on wikipedia.

Thanks Meadow, you’re soo sweet…and I’m very conscious of one of the things I have to do is make you a bag! (It’ll be a gift, when I finally get my act together.) Hmm, off to check out vitalist.
