This is …the contents of my handbag

This week’s instalment [theme courtesy of Iris and Lily] is a subject dear to my heart.  Handbags of course.   I’m always curious about what sorta stuff people carry around in their handbags, especially the people with really big bags!  I think this stems from when I was little and I used to get bored in church, so I’d go through Mum’s handbag.  Mum is a practical woman, so it was always utilitarian, with a purse, tissues, hanky, notebook, powder, lipstick …and she always had 4711 perfume towlettes for some reason, they fascinated me, in their aqua blue packaging.   So you know I’m going to be cruising your blogs to see what’s in your handbags!

Here’s mine, at 2.45 pm today:

whats-in-my-bag.jpg

I just tipped out everything on the floor and kicked my purse back into the frame.  Actually it’s a rather dull pile of things, as I’ve been trying to keep everything in my bag light lately.  The bag itself is a Smiggle satchel that I use because it’s light and fits my work portfolio.  I sewed a strip of Lara’s fabric across the flap to add some excitement.  The white shopping bag is Japanese rice choccy and some Dutch licquorice that I just bought at the deli during my lunch break.  What else is there?  Chest inhaler, tissues (holder by Edna), waterless hand cleaner, medication and Panadol, diary, chewy, notebook, business card pouch (won at Mike’s stitching night), fave perfume (Stila Creme Bouquet for the curious), green pencil case with makeup in, headphones (i-pod is plugged into computer charging), keys, phone.  All very practical…I obviously take after my mother more than I like to admit.

By the way, yes I know my purse is beyond daggy, but I op-shopped it because it’s a divided metal frame one, so all my cards are on one side, and my money is on the other.  They’re hard little suckers to find. The grand plan is to recover it in nice fabric. One day.

I always appreciate a fine looking purse or bag. Reading your blog reminded me it was time, for me, to change purses. I do this every couple of months. That way I can make sure my many purses (I collect purses like some poeple collect shoes) all get equal usage.
I love the kleenix cover. Good idea!
Your blog is great. I will be back to read it again.
    Have a good weekend.

Not sure what a Smiggle satchel is but it looks like what I need. ;-)

I too wonder what all those HUGE bags hold that the stars carry (in the People photos on line).

Can they really walk, look glam, and have xx lbs hanging on their shoulders???

If you decide on choose a superb hardwood floor cleaner having a Triple Action Poly Shield, then you will have
much more protection. Nonetheless, probably the most effective type of filtering might be the HEPA filtration,
therefore don’t exclude this sort of hoover particularly when investing in the cylinder sort. He showed me the metal components of the vacuum and I was capable to check it for the Electrolux. Well, if so then, your days of worry appear to finish with the Hoover Max – Extract All-Terrain Carpet Cleaner, F745290. 4) The brush roller has very stiff brushes which are natural fiber.
