Tour de France knit along post #1

As per the button in my sidebar, I decided to give the Tour de France knit along a go…I think I was inspired by Jess of Button Beauty.  I just realised that today is July the first, so I thought I better come up with a project to work on for the month (not that I haven’t already got heaps of knitting UFOs but I think the rules are that you have to start something new).

So here’s what I chose:

Wool from K-mart, Cleckheaton Vintage Hues (I *heart* Australian Country Spinners) and a cardigan pattern that’s a bit challenging for me, but hopefully will be worth the effort.  (I would have liked to make it in the yellows illustrated in the book, but I’ve had no luck so far finding that shade.) Obviously I won’t look as gorgeous as the model in the book with my finished cardi, but the wool is soft, warm and yummy!  The knit along starts July 5.  I know I’d much rather be knitting than riding a pushie non-stop up and down hills!

Hey Steph. I thought you’d vanished from the blogosphere, then noticed that you’d switched to typepad. Duh, me!
I started a vintage hues cardi last year.(The really plain one with the single button closure.) I’ve done half of the back……. Yeah, I’m not much of a knitter. Thankfully, I still love the wool and can imiagine myself a few winters from now wearing said cardi. I look forward to seeing your finished version.

I also love that Vintage Hues – have done a beanie and mittens for Master 6 in that shade. It’s lovely to knit with. Glad to see you on ‘the tour’ – what team are you on? Cast on in 2 sleeps!!
